Sanlando Depression Glass Show

Depression Glass Dealer.
Bill and
Millie Downey have been promoting the Sanlando Depression Glass Show since
1986. The show is held at the restored Sanford, Florida Civic
Center which is the perfect setting for the September and January
shows.
Months
before each show, Bill and Millie make several trips to antique shops and
shows distributing show cards and visiting dealers and shop owners.
Their hard work paid off when the doors opened for their show.
When the
doors opened, customers went in all directions. Some shopped the 27
dealers that had brought their best and most beautiful glass.
Other customers made their way to the table of delicious homemade treats
prepared by the Downeys. Friday evening and throughout the
weekend customers shopped and carried bags of treasurers out to their
cars. First time attendees as well as veterans committed on the
beauty of the show.
Special
guests attending the shows included authors Jim and Barbara Mauzy.
Others often on hand include Fleur de Lys Healy, representing the National
Cambridge Club, and Ron and Norma Hufford, Fostoria Glass Representatives.
Well
before the close of the show, the Downeys were distributing show cards for
the following show.
Hourly door prizes will also be given away throughout the show.

September 20, 2008

Directions:
Sanford Civic Center is located in Sanford, Florida- north of Orlando.
From Orlando, go up I-4 to the Mt. Dora , Sanford Exit (101BC)
and exit right,
Follow the exit to Left and go to Hwy 46, turn right and go straight
to
Sanford Ave. Turn left. The Civic Center is the second building
on right.
